The Fiji Police Force will review its operation strategies following the release of its Crime Statistics Annual Report 2015.

The report showed that out of all four divisions in the country, the Southern Division recorded the highest number of crimes followed by the Western, Eastern then Northern Division.

The Southern Division recorded 9625 crime cases last year compared to 7689 in 2014. This is an increase of 25 per cent.

The Western Division recorded 6144 crime cases last year while only 5801 cases were recorded by the division in 2014.

Police chief of operations, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rusiate Tudravu said they would meet all Divisional Commanders to look into this.

“They will be called after the first quarter of the year to review everything including our strategies to see ways of improving and delivering our service,” ACP Tudravu said.

“We have been discussing it to also see the root causes for all these.”

The Eastern Division recorded 2634 crime cases last year – a 12 per cent increase from the 2360 cases recorded in 2014.

The Northern Division recorded 2416 crime cases last year compared to 1786 in 2014.
