A total of 14 zone records were broken on day one of the Nadi zone at Prince Charles Park yesterday.

Competition Director Avinesh Chand said they expect more records to be broken today.

“A total of 14 records were broken, seven in the tracks and seven in the field events,” Lal said.

Chand anticipated the Nadi Zone would be well represented in the 2016 Coca-Cola Games in Suva later this month.

“We thank the sponsors Coca Cola and Ricoh business and respective schools and the athletes for their support this year.”

Defending boys champions Ratu Navula College currently leads the men’s medal tally with nine gold, nine silver and three bronze medals while Votualevu College in second place with six gold, seven silver and five bronze medals.

Korovuto College in third place with 3 gold, one silver and two bronze medals.

In the girls division Votualevu College in first place with six gold, seven silver and five bronze medals. Korovuto in second place with four gold, six silver and one bronze medals while Ratu Navula College in third place with four gold, five silver and five bronze medals.
