The Republic of the Fiji Military Forces and Fiji Police Force entertainers surprised cyclone affected villages at Koro Island yesterday when they marched through the villages of Mudu and Nakodu.

Under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Serevi Vananalagi the brass band marched through Mudu and Nakodu villages while the Police band serenades made the morning entertaining tunes across Nabuna and Nacamaki Villages.

Lieutenant Colonel Vananalagi and Major Meli Bulitiliva reassured villagers that the visit was made to enlighten their day and assist them to move forward.

“You still have the will to pave a way forward for a better future,” they said.

Mereoni Batikavalava, the assistant head teacher at Sinuvaca Primary School stated that it was quite difficult to teach their students because they were still affected by Cyclone Winston.

“Sometimes they just stare and their silence would be broken by some sudden sound which would make them scream.

“However they were thankful for the visit which has put smiles to their faces,” Ms Batikavalava said.

The entertainment visit will continue in Koro today before they move to Vanuabalavu in the afternoon.
