Fiji’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Nazhat Shameem Khan this week signed the condolence book at the Permanent Mission of Pakistan.

Ambassador Khan expressed her condolences to the Pakistani Government and people of Pakistan, who have lost loved ones, on behalf of the Fijian Government and the people of Fiji.

Ambassador Khan said the senseless and devastating loss of lives from such terrorist attacks in any part of the world will never be condoned in any shape and form by the Fijian Government and  people.

Over the Easter weekend, terrorist attacks in a public park in Lahore, Pakistan killed 72 Pakistanis and left 362 wounded. Out of those killed, 24 were children.

Fiji established diplomatic relations with Pakistan after independence. Although it does not have a resident Mission in Islamabad, the High Commission in New Delhi, India covers Pakistan.
