Sigatoka Andhra College leads Day One of the Nadroga-Navosa Athletic Zone Meet which took place at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka yesterday.

The Olosara-based school convincingly led the overall tally with eight gold medals, one silver and one bronze. Cuvu College took second place with six gold, three silver and one bronze.

Sigatoka Methodist College currently sits at third place with five gold and two silver.

Meet manager Arvind Narayan said the 687 athletes displayed their potentials well as they try to book a top spot for the 2016 Coca Cola Games.

“Our aim is to do well as a district, but some are participating well on the tracks and field events,” he said

Ten schools are part of the two-day event with Reverend Thomas Baker Memorial School from Navatusila, Navosa and Ratu Lalabalavu Secondary School in Malolo making their debut.
