Headteacher Ravaele Mara said they started their relief donation drive three weeks ago; targeting students of Bureiwai District School and this initiative was done by the students and teachers.

He said a mufti was organised by the school with the permission of the Ministry of Education (MOE) to raise funds for the visitation.

The school collected about $3000 worth of items and the money raised was used to buy stationery for teachers and students of Bureiwai District School.

“We thank the parents of our school for the tremendous donations that was received even until the time of boarding, donations was still coming in and parents who helped accompany the teachers and students for the trip,” Mr Mara said.

“We also thank the MOE for allowing us to be part of the ‘Adopt a School’ initiative.”

Representatives from the different years and teachers were part of the school  trip.

The school also acknowledges the Dee Cees Bus company for providing them with a bus free of charge.
