Container truck driver released

The container truck driver who caused a horrific accident at the Walu Bay roundabout has been released by Police after being questioned.

Investigation towards criminal negligence is underway.

Police would like to warn all container truck drivers to make sure that containers are locked and safe on their truck before delivering.

This should be a lesson to all container truck drivers and company owners. If this was the practice in the past then they should stop it now. Whether travelling a short distance or even driving within company yards, they should make sure the container is safe on the truck. The safety of everyone at work sites and public roads is paramount.
