Vodafone Fijian 7s captain Osea Kolinisau will become the first Fijian player to play his 50th tournament of the World Seven Series in Hong Kong.

A not-so-easy feat as the 30-year-old made his debut for Fiji in the 2008 Dubai 7s tournament.

“It’s a milestone for me and to have it in Hong Kong it is like a script of a movie,” he said.

“Hong Kong is where I grew this love for sevens rugby after watching (Waisale) Serevi and team play so yes it’s  special but team come first than individual.”

Kolinisau said it is a privilege and honour to lead the country in international duties.

“I’m always humble when I’m given the task. And I thank the Lord for giving me the strength and choosing me in leading the boys in Hong Kong.”

He added that this is an important tournament in their campaign as a win will boost their lead in the Series.

The Vodafone Fijians are in first spot with 106 points followed by South Africa with 105 and New Zealand with 104.

“I keep telling the boys that we need to work hard and win this tournament for maximum points and to make our work easier for the last two legs. It’s very important because the points a really close and we know if we win in Hong Kong it will pull us away from South Africa and New Zealand. So we want to win this in order to stay high.”
