Jekesoni Yanuyanudrua of Bodybuilding Fiji is declared the bronze medal winner of the men’s 90kilogramme bodybuilding contest during last year’s Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.

Yanuyanudrua had initially finished fourth in the competition but then bronze medal Stanley Bruneau of Tahiti was disqualified after he recorded positive readings of banned substances Canrenone, 19-norandrosterone, Anastrozole, Drostanolone and Stanozolol.

“The reason why it has taken so long for the initial results to come out and for athletes to be awarded their medals is because the process of testing over 300 athletes is a long process,” said Pacific Games Council president Vidhya Lakhan.

Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) chief executive officer Lorraine Mar applauded the efforts by Drug Free Sport Fiji on the anti-doping education of athletes.

Bodybuilding Fiji’s medal tally now comes to three silver and two bronze medals.
