Investigations are underway into a fire that partially destroyed a 3 bedroom concrete house at Namadi late Sunday night. The fire may have been caused by a lit candle that was placed on a wooden kitchen table. The house was being rented by a 25 year old student of the University of the South Pacific and he was at home during the time of the incident.

Fire officers managed to contain the fire upon their arrival at the scene and their assessment towards the damages is currently underway with police investigations also continuing into the fire.

Meanwhile a 4 bedroom house was also burnt to the ground in Lautoka at around midday yesterday. Investigations into the fire continue as we try to ascertain the amount of damages and cause of fire
