A scheduled trip to the Upper Southern Lau group is now back to normal.

A trip to the islands by MV Brianna on Monday was cancelled following the heavy downpour.

Vessel owner, Victoria Marine Shipping Limited’s manager shipping Pita Cokomata said they had advised all their passengers by phone that the trip was cancelled.

“We were more concerned about the safety of our passengers which was why we had to cancel our services,” Mr Cokomata said.

He said they will only resume services once the weather is favourable.

The MV Brianna left Suva at 3pm yesterday to travel to the Upper Southern Lau group.

For its future services, the MV Brianna will make its normal trip to Vanuabalavu on April 11.

The trip will cover the Upper Southern parts of Lau – Vanuavatu, Nayau, Lakeba, Oneata, Komo, Moce, Namuka and Kabara on April 18 on one of its franchise trip.

The MV Brianna will also serve a charter to Rotuma on April 23.

Meanwhile, the MV Sea Rakino will make a trip to yasayasa Moala on April 11 and they have an AQEP charter on April 17 and a normal franchise trip to Vanuabalavu Islands which is Yacata, Mavana, Lomaloma, Cikobia, Tuvuca and Cicia.
