The Fiji Commerce Commission organized a workshop to empower all stakeholders in the country on critical issues regarding landlord and tenancy relationship in Fiji.

The workshop was held at Studio 6 apartments in Suva yesterday.

Commission Chief Executive, Bobby Maharaj said the whole idea of the workshop is to raise awareness on key legislative requirements in Fiji is done in a fair and responsible manner and all information is disclosed to all parties.

He said the presentations included key government entities, private sector, public rental board, the housing authority of Fiji, I Taukei Land Trust Board, Real Estate Agents Licensing Board and distress action and powers of a Bailiff.

“It is crucial to understand what should be there in a tenancy agreement, the dos and don’ts as far as land lord and tenancy relationship is concern,’’ Mr Maharaj said.
