A Labasa secondary school teacher charged with disobeying a lawful order appeared at Labasa Magistrates Court yesterday.

It was alleged that Ashvin Lal breached the restriction of movement order that was put in place on Wednesday night in Labasa Town.

The Police officers arrested him after he was warned twice to return home.

He appeared before Magistrate Thushara Thennakoon.

Lal pleaded guilty.

Police prosecutor Constable Nilesh Prasad informed the court that Lal was a first- offender.

The teacher was released on bail of $500.

The case has been adjourned for sentencing on April 20.  Shratika Naidu
