Progress For Suva Football Team

The Suva football team is progressing well in their build up to the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Champions League which starts today in New Zealand.
Suva played two warm-up matches as part of their preparation winning both games; they beat Papakura FC 4-2 with goals coming in from Samuela Drudru, Setareki Hughes and Poasa Bainivalu. They won their second game edging Bay Olympics FC 1-0 from a Rusiate Matarerega goal.
Coach Gurjit Singh said he was pleased with the effort the players have put in.
“They are slowly improving in each game we have played and they have settled in quite well since arriving here,” Singh said.
The OFC Champions League is also a qualifying round to the lucrative FIFA Club World Cup which will be hosted by Japan on December 8-18.
Suva is in Group B with Team Wellington (New Zealand), Hekari United (Papua New Guinea) and AS Lossi (New Caledonia) Nadi is in Group C with AS Tefana (Tahiti), Kiwi FC (New Zealand) and AS Magenta (New Caledonia).
