Chand Follows Father’s Footsteps

Daniel Chand’s dream to continue in his father’s footsteps became a reality yesterday.
The 24-year-old was part of the Republic of Fiji Military Force (RFMF) passing-out parade at the Forces Training Group (FTG) in Nasinu yesterday.
His family was present to witness his graduation and to also congratulate the recruit.
His mother Irene Chand said: “I am so proud of my son.
“My husband died late last year and my son had always wanted to join the force and I thank him for his persistence and dedication,”Mrs Chand said.
She described her son as an intelligent and humble man.
Meanwhile Mr Chand described the nine-weeks training as tough and rewarding.
“This is a huge achievement for me and I dedicate it to my family and especially my Dad,” he said.
“I learned a lot of life’s valuable lessons during my training and I thank my instructors for their hard work and also to my team for their encouragement.”
