Bula my fellow car enthusiasts!

As you all know safety is very paramount to us, hence our race last Sunday had been postponed due to bad weather. We cannot race when the track is wet.

Nonetheless, since we had some cars that came from the western division. We decided to give something back.

Around 2pm, the weather was not that bad as it was not raining so we decided to have an unofficial race; we wanted to give something back to the people who made their way to the tracks.

End of the day, Sanjesh Dutt won in his MR 2; he was running well the whole day as he beat 6 cars.

But obviously we were prepared, everyone came out all the big guns turned out, we were ready to race.

The weather is something we cannot control.

Nevertheless, in the coming days we will announce the new date for the race, we will try to work closely with the weather man to see the days that is good to race.

Membership drive

We have had 71 members so far. It’s encouraging since we did not have any race this year.

But we are looking forward to more members joining.

I still encourage people to join Fiji Car Club; there is a form to sign, fee of $50 and lot of benefits of becoming a member.

This includes fees to any Fiji Car Club events will be free.

Western Drag Race Update

This year our aim is to at least have one drag race in the western division.

We are still trying to get the approval of relevant authorities. Once the approval is given, we will decide the date and venue for the race as this is a big event for us.

It has been more than 8 years since we had a race in the Western Division.

In conclusion, as I said in my last week’s article, we are still seeing people racing on the road,

Please refrain from this, It is not worth it. Come to the down Fiji Car Club and race all you want.

In the next week’s column we will bring you more details on the next race; it will be on the drag race time and venue.
