The Laxmi Narayan Temple in Suva prepared more than 1000 food packs for flood victims in the Western Division.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama visited the temple on Thursday to acknowledge the work done by the temple group.

The food packs were to be distributed by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and his team to flood affected areas during his trip down to the West.

“We have been doing this ever since the fierce attack of Tropical Cyclone Winston in our country and we will continue to assist our people in whatever way possible,” Laxmi Narayan Temple spokesperson Raju Raniga said.

“Today we prepared vegetable fried rice with tomatoe chutney and we have been doing this from Sunday, distributing food packs and we hope that it will assist in the recovery of our people.”

Laxmi Narayan Temple had also been assisting students who were severely affected by TC Winston with school packs.

A team from the Fiji Sports Council was also present to assist in the packing of food packs.
