TFL has partnered with iPass, a leading provider of global mobile connectivity, to enable this service for its customers.

Telecom Fiji Limited has taken its Wi-Fi network capability further by enabling international roaming for its customers.

TFL has enabled outbound roaming on its Unifi product, which will allow TFL’s broadband customers to use the same home account to access the internet on designated Wi-Fi networks while traveling abroad.

Currently, TFL customers can use their home broadband account on any of the TFL or Connect Wi-Fi Networks within Fiji.

TFL has partnered with iPass, a leading provider of global mobile connectivity, to enable this service for its customers.

With this capability now, TFL customers can use the same account on Wi-Fi networks in more than 120 countries worldwide.

iPass offers convenient, secure, always-on Wi-Fi access on any mobile device. iPass has more than 50 million Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide, located at airports, hotels, train stations, convention centers, outdoor venues, inflight, and more.

Telecom Fiji chief executive officer, Mothilal De Silva, commented: “We continue to strive and provide exceptional services in the ICT industry.

“Such services will ensure that our customers are satisfied with our services and stay connected when travelling abroad.

“This partnership focuses on providing enhanced customer experience, and we look forward to providing more innovative services to the people of Fiji.”

Mato Petrusic, vice president of sales EMEA and Asia Pacific at iPass, commented, “We are pleased to be partnering with Telecom Fiji to bring international Wi-Fi roaming to its customer base.

“Customers want convenient and cost-effective connectivity when travelling abroad, and iPass is helping make this a reality.

“Our partnership with Telecom Fiji is a great example of the value-add global Wi-Fi can bring to operators as they compete locally and internationally.”

The iPass application is available on the most popular operating systems and platforms such as iOS, Mac, Windows and Android.

All existing TFL broadband customers who have their email addresses registered, will receive a welcome email, allowing them to download the iPass application and activating their device for the roaming service.
