10 Arrested For Alleged Drunk Driving

Ten people were arrested by Police at the weekend for drunk driving.
This was confirmed to the Fiji Sun yesterday by the Fiji Police Force director traffic, Senior Superintendent (SSP) Mahesh Mishra.
At the weekend Police also issued 150 infringement notices and booked 116 drivers for speeding.
SSP Mishra said they intercepted 119 vehicles and carried out 300 random breathalyzer tests.
Naluwai incident
Meanwhile, last Friday at Naluwai Village in Naitasiri, it is alleged that a driver bumped a man who was riding a bicycle along Vunidawa Road. The suspected driver failed to stop but was later arrested at Corbert Avenue.
The accident victim suffered injuries to his neck, right hand and knee, and is admitted at the Vunidawa Hospital.
Bau Road crash
SSP Mishra said an accident occurred at Bau Road on Friday whereby a private vehicle bumped a vehicle causing injuries to all passengers.
The three passengers suffered injuries and are now under observation at the Nausori Hospital.
One of them received head injuries and was transferred to CWM Hospital.
Meanwhile, SSP Mishra has urged motorists to respect the traffic rules.
