Leading Australian business development specialist Anne Skipper at the Fiji Institute of Accountants congress this month.

Ms Skipper is a successful and experienced businesswoman with a diverse career as a nurse, public relations consultant, change agent, business owner, board director, mentor and public advocate for disadvantaged communities within Australia and overseas.

She has more than 25 years’ experience as a board director and chair of government, not-for-profit and private sector boards in the areas of health, planning and development, tourism, education, disability and social services, and financial services.

Ms Skipper’s career has embraced government, the private sector, and particularly community based organisations focused on public health, media, women’s affairs, leadership, children and youth.

Her broad working experience ultimately led organisations across many industry sectors to seek out her expertise in corporate governance.

She is currently the Principal of Anne Skipper & Associates, a specialist organisation consulting in corporate governance, strategic planning and group dynamics for boards and advisory committees.

Her principal aim is to create more effective boards and their decision making processes by improving the dynamics between board members and executive management].

Ms Skipper is a core facilitator for the Australian Institute of Company Directors, delivering governance training nationally and internationally in the core areas of the duties and responsibilities of directors, strategy, decision making and board effectiveness.

Ms Skipper’s career highlights have included founding The Teleran Group, a highly successful leadership development business; Chairing the International Year of the Family in South Australia; and her recognition as a Member of the Order of Australia in 2000 for community service.
