The Vodafone Fiji ATH Foundation handed over $1.2million worth of mobility aid to the Spinal Injury Association of Fiji yesterday.

Vodafone Fiji chief technical officer Andrew Kumar, during the handover, said they had distributed more than $14m worth of mobility equipment to various health centres and hospitals around the country since their partnership with Physio Net UK in 2012.

Spinal Injury Association of Fiji executive director Joshko Wakaniyasi said the items which included diapers, sugar testing machines and sanitary pads together would be distributed to the Physio Department at the CWM Hospital, Twomey Hospital and to the Fiji National Council for Disabled Persons.

“This equipment is expected to assist more than 1000 people in the Fiji’s physically impaired community,” Mr Wakaniyasi said.

British High Commissioner, Roderick Drummond said they  would continue to assist the disabled community in whichever way possible.
