Hindu faith-based schools will be closed tomorrow.

This is being done to allow Hindu students and teachers to celebrate Ram Naumi, the birth of Hindu God Lord Rama.

The Minister for Education, Mahendra Reddy, confirmed this to the Fiji Sun last night.

He said this decision was made keeping in mind that many Hindus would need time to attend to midday prayers marking the birth of Lord Rama.
