Change Of Date For Nadi Fight

New Zealand boxer Anthony Taylor is sick and won’t be fully fit on April 23
The Toe-2-Toe boxing promotion set for Saturday, April 23, at Prince Charles Park, Nadi is now moved to May 21. This was confirmed yesterday by promoter Abdul Feroz who indicated that New Zealand boxer Anthony Taylor is sick and won’t be fully fit on April 23.
“Taylor’s camp has sent in the medical report to the Boxing Commission of Fiji and I’ve discussed it with them,” the Lomawai native from Nadroga said.
“I’ve also informed the other boxers that are fighting in the programme and they have welcomed the change as it gives them more time to prepare.”
Feroz said he was glad that Taylor’s management had been very professional in their approach and informed him a week before the fight.
“It would have been difficult if it was a last minute thing. Also I had considered getting in another boxer as a replacement but then I realised that fans won’t get their monies worth. So after consultation with the commission, it’s best that I move it to another date.”
Feroz said after last week’s flooding in Nadi, he was still going ahead with his promotion but now he has to reschedule it because of Taylor being sick.
The tough Kiwi was going to fight Fiji welterweight champion Junior Farzan Ali in a 10-round thriller while the main supporting bout sees Lautoka slugger Franco Fraser facing the biggest test of his career when he takes on Johnny ‘Machine Gun’ Singh of Nadi. The BCF in a press release also confirmed the change of date.
