The Queen Victoria School Old Boys (QVSOB) rugby team are targeting a top eight finish in the Suva Rugby Union’s Escott Shield competition.

The QVSOB rugby team have returned to the Premier grade and head coach Peceli Sovaki believes in the capabilities of his young team.

“We have a very young team as most of our players are fresh from the QVS Under-18 system last year and are blending in well with the senior players,” he said.

“This should be a good season for us and for this year we are targeting a top eight finish in the Escott Shield competition.”

QVSOB won their opening game beating Covenant 15-5 and in the second round of competition they thrashed Nabua 27-12.

Bolstering QVSOB this year are the presence of former Suva Highlander lock forward Tevita Tuiloa, former national U8 captain Tomasi Dausiga and former Suva rep Seremaia Waqanisau.

“These players have been doing well and sacrificed a lot in us trying to achieve our goals.”
