Navua Police are now waiting for reports from Morris Hedstrom in Navua to investigate a looting at the retail outlet during the fire nearby at the Courts building on Saturday night.

Navua Criminal Investigation Department Inspector Elia Waqanidrola said: “We have received complaints regarding some items that have been stolen from MH in Navua.

“We were surprised to receive these complaints and it happened during the time of the fire.

“I think it happened when the National Fire Authority (NFA) firefighters were trying to put out the fire at Courts building and at the same time there were some people who were looting in MH.”

Inspector Waqanidrola said they were now waiting on MH to give them the report on the items that were stolen and the prices of the items stolen and then they would carry out their investigations.

“No one has been arrested yet,” he said.

Carpenters Fiji retail and marketing director Kunaseelan Sabaratnam said yesterday afternoon he had not yet received a report.

“When I was in Navua this morning no one informed me about this,” he said.
