Ryan Admires Kenyan’s Strategy

Vodafone Fijians 7s coach Ben Ryan was gracious in defeat after they went down 30-7 to Kenya in the Cup final of the Singapore 7s.
Ryan said there was plenty to admire about the Kenyans and the strategy they had used.
This was after the Vodafone Fijians needed last-minute tries in their quarter and semi-finals against Australia and South Africa respectively.
This was Ryan’s first Cup final defeat with the Vodafone Fijians in 10 appearances but he was gracious despite the setback.
“They suffocated us,” Ryan said.
“They were incredibly physical in the breakdowns and did a brilliant job at counter rucking. Under pressure our boys didn’t think clearly enough.”
Meanwhile, veteran Kenyan winger Collins Injera said the win means that nothing is impossible when it comes to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in August.
“Gold in Brazil is no longer a dream but a realistic target. We’ve taken a good step towards it by winning this tournament and we just have to keep building on it,” Injera added.
