Insurance Firms Donate $82,500

The Insurance Council of Fiji and Insurance Industry participants made a collective donation of $82,500 to the Prime Minister’s Winston Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.
Council chairman Malakai Naiyaga said: “In making this donation, we express our heartfelt sympathies to all those who have lost their loved ones, or have suffered losses to their homes or property. We trust that this donation will assist those affected to rebuild their lives and move forward.”
Mr Naiyaga thanked the following members of the Insurance Industry who donated towards this worthy cause:
Aon – $10,000
BSP Life – $10,000
Dominion Insurance – $10,000
Life Insurance Corporation of India – $10,000
New India Assurance – $10,000
QBE – $10,000
Sun Insurance – $10,000
Tower Insurance – $10,000
Insurance Holdings Limited Brokers – $2,500
In addition, council members have offered customers disaster relief concessions and also made other direct or indirect financial and in kind contributions, some substantial, to the relief efforts.
On behalf of the council Mr Naiyaga thanked Government and all local and foreign organisations that have assisted with funds and resources for rehabilitation work.
