Crash! Crash! 2 In Hospital

Two people are admitted at the Lautoka Hospital after a three-car crash near Yako Village in Nadroga yesterday.
Divisional traffic officer Western ASP Mitieli Divuana confirmed the victims suffered leg injuries and were in stable condition.
Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision. The third following one of them crashed into the wreck.
One of the vehicles crossed to the other lane and hit the on-coming vehicle.
An eye witness Laitia Vunisa, 24, of Yako village was among those present at the time of the incident.
“We were walking on the side when the accident happened,” she said.
“The third car was following behind and it collided with the two cars. We were shocked when we turned around as we heard loud sound of things smashing.
“The driver of one car was unconscious. The driver of the second car had bruises in his face and legs too.”
The driver of the third car escaped injury but was taken to the hospital for checkup and sent home.
Fire officers and Police arrived at the scene and assisted the trapped victims who were transferred to Nadi Hospital and later to Lautoka Hospital.
Meanwhile, Police have advised motorists to think of their passengers and all other road users when driving.
Drivers should drive with extreme care and attention and should avoid speeding at all times.
