Old Nausori Market Site Groundbreaking Dates To Be Out Soon

Dates for the groundbreaking ceremony of Shop N Save’s new $40 million shopping complex at the old Nausori Market site is expected to be announced in two weeks.
Shop N Save chief financial officer, Abhishek Abhimannu, confirmed construction process will start once the sublease agreement with Nausori Town Council is signed after two weeks.
Mr Abhimannu also highlighted they will employ around 300 people during the initial construction phase.
He indicated 150 people will be employed once the complex opens.
Minister for Local Government, Housing, Environment, Infrastructure and Transport Parveen Kumar confirmed the project announced in May the past year will definitely go ahead.
“All the processes have taken place already and within two weeks time we will announce when the ground breaking,” Mr Kumar said.
Shop N Save had won the Government tender to sublease the old Nausori Market site for the next 50 years.
It proposed to build the Rewa City Shopping Centre Complex which will provide 100 car parks, two floor retail centres, two floor office centres, two floor hotel/apartment centres and cinemas as well.
