FNU Awards Its Masters Graduates

Nadan plans to pursue studies further to obtain doctorate title
Fiji National University yesterday awarded two masters degrees at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
One of the graduates, 28-year-old Yogesh Nadan from Ba graduated with a Master of Commerce in Accounting from FNU and plans to go one step further in pursuing his studies to become a doctor of philosophy at the University of Fiji.
“I have had a challenging journey as my classes are in Suva and I work and stay in Ba. I had to often travel to Suva to attend my classes and sit for my exams but to have finally obtained my masters today I feel very proud and want to further pursue my studies to obtain the title of a professor,” Mr Nadan said.
Mr Nadan missed his dad Marimuthu after he passed away last year in September and that was during his last semester and he was planning to spend graduation day with his father.
“Losing my dad was not easy for me because it happened all of a sudden and that to in the process of finishing my masters where we were planning for my graduation, I miss my dad today very much and know if he were here he would have been very proud,” Mr Nadan said.
Mother Premila Devi shed tears of joy at her son’s success and felt very proud for his hard work as he has always been an excelling student since childhood.
“I am very happy and proud of my son and I only wish him all the very best for his future goals and dreams,” Ms Devi said.
