The father of the 13-year-old underaged driver, who was recently involved in a road accident is yet to be interviewed.

Police say that the officer in charge of the investigation was on a day-off and on Monday they would see if the father was feeling well enough to be questioned.

It was earlier reported that the father had collapsed and was rushed to the hospital hearing about his 13-year-old son crashing their family car at Votua Road, Samabula.

The boy was driving to the shop and while turning the car at the bend of Votua Road he drove into the other lane and hit an oncoming vehicle.

Because the boy is a juvenile the Police could not charge him.

The father could be charged for giving his son the consent to drive knowing that he was underaged and did not have a driver’s licence.

Police could charge the father with two counts; one of permitting another person to drive a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s licence and the second is failure to comply with provisions of a learner’s permit.
