Athletics Fiji Officials Alber Miller and Waisiki Koroivulavula departed the country yesterday for Gold Coast, Australia.

The duos will attend the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Technical Officials Education Certification Level One lecturers course.

The five days course, which will start today at the Oceania Athletics House in Gold Coast, finishes on May 1.

They will be joined by other participants from Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Tahiti, Singapore and Tonga.

In a statement released by Athletics Fiji yesterday, it stated Miller would represent Fiji whilst Koroivulavou would represent the Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association.

The main objective of the Course is to bring together experienced Technical Officials and developing their Lecturing Skills and knowledge to be able to deliver the IAAF Level 1 Officials Course within their own federations.

There are 33 units in the course which covers competition rules in the Running, Jumping, Throwing, Race walking and Combined Events.

Funding for the course is being provided by the IAAF and Oceania Athletics.

Currently Fiji Secondary School Athletics Association secretary Vuli Waqa is the only qualified Technical Officials Lecturer in Fiji.
