In a bid to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of activities, the Ministry of Fisheries and Forests conducted their first quarter review at the Tanoa Waterfront Hotel conference room in Lautoka on Tuesday.

Addressing his senior officers, Permanent Secretary for Fisheries and Forests Samuela Lagataki said that his duty was to drive the ministry to a culture of change and to continue to challenge the status quo.

“The moment you stop challenging the status quo is the moment that you stop growing,” he said.

“We need to grow and have a deeper understanding of our roles and responsibilities so that we are able to look at the bigger picture and work our way in achieving them.”

He said everyone needed to play their part.

“It should also be embedded in all the hearts and minds of each and every member of the ministry as this new vision further broadens our horizon whereby we will continue to strive to be the best in our respective fields,” he said.

Divisions of the ministry have also been urged to use up the funds allocated for activities in the first quarter of the year.
