The Vodafone Fijian 7s team’s visa application fees for the Paris leg of the World Sevens Series have been waived by the French Embassy in Suva.

The Ben Ryan-coached side was at the French Embassy yesterday for their visa applications and not only their visa fees were waived but the players had their passports returned to them within hours.

French Embassy public relations adviser Moira Raduva stated in a statement the players also had chance to share few rugby stories with the Chargée d’Affaires Jules Irrmann.

“The Fiji national 7s team was at the French Embassy today (yesterday) for their visa applications for the Paris 7s. To show their support, the French Embassy waived the Fiji National rugby team’s visa fees.

“The Chargée d’Affaires Jules Irrmann met with the team, shared a few rugby stories with the 7s reps and wished the team all the best.

“Apart from the waived visa fees, the national team had their passports returned to them within hours,” the French Embasy statement said.

The Paris 7s will be held on May 13-15 followed by the London 7s on May 21-22.
