The Republic of the Fiji Military Forces  personnel who were seconded in the civil service have returned to the barracks.

RFMF Chief of Staff, Colonel Litea Seruiratu said a directive was issued last December to withdraw all Republic of Fiji Military Forces personnel from Government and back to the Queen Elizabeth Barracks.

She said those who are still with Government have opted to remain in those posts and are now civil servants.

The four highlighted by Colonel Seruiratu are:

  • Nemani Vuniwaqa has opted to stay on as the Director of Immigration.
  • Tiale Vuiyasawa  who is now the manager Research and Development and staff officer to the Minister for Defence, National Security and Immigration
  • Former Navy Commander, Sanaila Naqali is the Ministry of Fisheries.deputy secretary .
  • Seremaia Waqanisau remains with the Ministry for Rural and Maritime Development as the Employment Relations and Logistics manager.
