Bridging Programme On Offer Soon

The Then India Sanmarga Ikya (TISI) Sangam College of Nursing will soon offer a bridging programme for interested members in the nursing fraternity to a degree level.

A statement released on Wednesday by the college stated that it had made preparations for the curriculum to offer the bridging programme after the first cohort of students with Bachelor of Nursing degree graduated in December, 2015.

“This led to extensive consultations with stakeholders,” the college academic and staff board chairman, Amraiya Naidu, said in the statement.

“It was first presented to the Fiji Nursing Council (FNC) for their perusal and decision, and the programme has been endorsed by the council.

“The college later made a submission to the Fiji Higher Education Commission (FHEC) for their consideration and approval to mount the programme.

“It was endorsed at a meeting held this week for implementation.

“The management and the staff members of the college are pleased with the development.

“It will be mounted shortly and all registered practicing nurses with Diploma of Nursing qualification with a minimum of three years of experience is eligible to enroll in the programme.

“Details will soon be advertised in the media,” he said.
