Crash Victim Thankful To Be Alive

Car crash victim Atu Rokosuka is happy to be alive.

Mr Rokosuka, 23, who was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit because of his critical condition, is slowly recovering and has been shifted to the Acute Surgical Ward at the Colonial War Memorial hospital.

The former John Wesley student works at Freshpac Ginger (Fiji) Ltd in Lami and is a part-timer shoeshine boy.

He was one of the four passengers of the tragic car crash last Sunday at Ratu Mara Rd where a rental car veered of the road and tumbled down a cliff killing two passengers.

Mr Rokosuka said he did not remember much of the morning of the accident as he was unconscious at the time he was brought to the hospital.

“I just remember getting into the car as we were heading to my friend’s place, and the last thing I remember was my friend telling the driver to go slow,” Mr Rokosuka said.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Kitione Tukana was laid to rest yesterday while Epeli Duaibe will be buried on Monday.
