A Fijian who works for the Audit Office of New South Wales was pleased to personally deliver relief supplies to the Qarawalu Village in Taveuni after appealing to fellow workers for assistance in food and relief packs.

“It was a pleasure to aid the people in Taveuni,” Sydney resident Sanjay Ram said.

“Despite the misery and sadness, the people of Qarawalu Village welcomed us with open arms and warmth that Fiji is known for.

“I thank my office staff, the Audit Office of New South Wales, Australia, for the donations and knowing the people of Fiji, I am confident they will ‘Rise and Shine’ again.”

Mr Ram delivered food, clothing and other items last week.

“I can feel what people would be going through having lost everything over a night of devastation,” Mr Ram said.

“It was heart wrenching to see people living in tents with limited supply of food and clean water.”
