What happened: Tailevu/ Naitasiri and Lami played to a 2-2 draw in the Vodafone Senior League in Suva yesterday.

Both teams braved the windy and rainy conditions. Tailevu/Naitasiri applied constant pressure early on which paid off as Roneel Ram scored an easy goal.

Lami managed to score the equaliser before halftime from a perfect header by Nalinesh Reddy.

Half-time: Tailevu/Naitasiri 1-1 Lami

Tailevu/Naitasiri kicked-started the second spell with a perfect header from Ram.

The goal gave Tailevu/Naitasiri the boost as they dominated the game. Lami committed a lot of mistakes as they struggled to settle down. In the 56th minute, Lami’s Navneel Naicker scored the equaliser.

Big play: Lami scored two good classic goals from Nalinesh Reddy and Navneel Naicker.

Star turn:

Tailevu/ Naitiasiri’s Roneel Ram is the key player for the team.

Comments: Lami coach Deepak Chand, “It was a good game but we committed a lot of mistakes in the first-half which should not have happened. We have not been training as much as we like because of the weather and work commitments. Fitness is a big factor and we need to work on that at training.”

Tailevu/Naitasiri coach Elvis Gounder, “It was a good game but we missed a few of our players due to injuries.

“But despite that I am happy with how they performed. We really need to work on our finishing and work on bringing in some new players.”
