Once again Denarau Island will be a hive of activity for three days as one of our largest tourism events is all set to begin.

The third Fijian Tourism Expo will start tomorrow at the Denarau Convention Centre at the Sheraton Fiji http://www.sheratonfiji.com/

Buyers from 19 countries have confirmed their participation for FTE 2016.

At least 112 Fijian exhibitors from May 3-6 will put on show their range of unique products and services for wholesalers and travel, trade media to market destinations in Fiji.

The Fijian Tourism Expo (FTE) is a uniquely Fijian tourism experience for international buyers of the tourism product.

It is designed to showcase the best of the Fijian tourism industry to the global travel market.

Over three days, international buyers and media will have the opportunity to meet and engage with the Fijian tourism industry in a way that has not been possible in the past.

Following the impact of Tropical Cyclone Winston, this is our perfect opportunity to showcase to the world what Fiji can offer to our tourists and moreso, why they need to visit Fiji.

Fiji can offer much more than sun, sea and sand and this is what our exhibitors will be striving to showcase to these buyers.

We are indeed lucky to have continued support from our traditional tourist source markets of Australia and New Zealand and for sure we will be getting buyers from there.

But it is also about thinking outside the box and attracting tourists from non-traditional sources. As the Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyumputs it – It is about growing the pie.

Surely the bad and unpredictable weather has had an impact on our economy but it did not dampen the spirits of the organising body of the event – Tourism Fiji.

Tourism Fiji has worked diligently and tirelessly to put together yet another memorable event raising the bar higher for future events.

There will be evening networking events to give the buyers the opportunity to meet and socialise with everyone in the tourism industry.

Tourism Fiji believes the success of FTE is based on establishing and strengthening long-term, genuine partnerships with industry partners to promote the effective development of a vibrant, resilient Fijian tourism industry.

There is a genuine sense of positivity amongst the tourism industry stakeholders to promote our tourism industry.

It shows the commitment and willingness of the industry to come together as one in a time where the national economy is highly dependent on this industry for continued growth.
