Education Minister Mahendra Reddy is standing by a teacher who has been embroiled in controversy over photos on social media.

An internal investigation has now revealed that a fake Facebook account of the teacher had been created and two photos of her were put up.

One of the photos showed her in lingerie.

Sources close to the family and the investigations claimed that a former boyfriend of the teacher created the account and put the photos up after an acrimonious  break-up.

Mr Reddy said: “We want to get to the bottom of this and it is our responsibility to protect our teachers.

“There seems to be more to this issue now that following the investigation it was determined that a third party may have been involved in creating a fake account.

“If teachers do wrong, they will be taken to task, but in this matter this teacher has not been on the wrong and she is a victim. I will stand by her and ensure that justice is served.

“Our teachers will not be made scapegoats”

The teacher comes from a family of teachers and this matter has caused great alarm in her family.
