Who Else Is Kepa Keeping Tabs On?
Outgoing SODELPA Leader and Opposition member Ro Teimumu Kepa.

Looks like SODELPA are showing their true colours.

The Opposition has made countless claims that media in Fiji operate under duress. SODELPA people have led the charge  screaming that there has been media censorship.

They have tried to portray themselves as champions of media freedom.

But their façade slipped when their leader released a statement threatening that some journalists will be taken to task if SODELPA forms the next government.

Ro Teimumu Kepa issued a statement on World Press Freedom Day to remind journalists that they are keeping note of all journalists who they think are pro-Government or in their minds against the Opposition.

They would be dealt with, she said.

Ro Teimumu’s comments should alarm and outrage all right thinking persons out there.

Who else is the Opposition leader keeping scores on?

For long they claimed that news media in Fiji were not free. Now she has come out and openly declared that journalists who in their opinion do not favour them will be taken to task. There’s a contradiction for you.

This is Ro Teimumu telling journalists to watch their backs in case we offend her or are perceived as being pro-Government.

She terms it journalism perpetuating hate. Yet, she offers no evidence of the same.

Maybe instead of threatening journalists, Ro Teimumu should focus on being a better Opposition Leader. Solving issues that dog SODELPA would be a good place to start.
