Investing in capital markets is not only for the rich and/or highly-qualified people but anyone can invest in this market.

This was the message from South Pacific Stock Exchange chief executive, Latileta Qoro, yesterday during the SPSE’s lunch-hour seminar.

“Discussions were based on the objectives of investing, purpose of share market, smart investing tips as and trends of historical returns generated by certain SPSE-listed stocks,” she said.

“Sometimes we think that investment is only for intelligent people and businesses.”

“These are misconceptions due to the lack of awareness on investment issues.

Ms Qoro said the public should consider diversifying their investment.

“In Fiji, our knowledge of the investment industry is quiet restricted and we only know of a few products,” she said.

Ms Qoro said SPSE is focused at creating awareness, looking at areas to tap into technology and utilising their social media platform to reach a wider audience.
