Policy Shift?

Remember the $73,000 that outgoing SODELPA leader and Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa gave Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama recently for Cyclone Winston rehabilitation work?

Well, some in SODELPA did not agree with it. A copy of a letter from a senior SODELPA official to Ro Teimumu, criticising the presentation, has surfaced among party faithfuls in the United States.

To Ro Teimumu’s credit she disregarded petty party politics and put the national interest first.

It’s the second significant step in what party insiders say is a gradual policy shift.

The first was when she announced she had now accepted Fijian as a common name. She caught her SODELPA members by surprise!

Thought for today

Social media websites are no longer performing an envisaged function of creating a positive communication link among friends, family and professionals. It is a veritable battleground, where insults fly from the human quiver, damaging lives, destroying self-esteem and a person’s sense of self-worth.
