Members of the Vodafone Fijian 7s team have to work hard if they are to play for Fiji at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in August.

Team manager Ropate Kauvesi said the onus was now on the players to perform in the Paris and London tournaments to cement their spot in the final squad to Rio.

With the inclusion of the Europe based- players the Vodafone Fijians are now in London where they are going through their training sessions.

In an earlier interview, Kauvesi said they are working on their combination for the Paris tournament.

“Each team will bring their best especially when they are playing Fiji,” he said.

Kauvesi said they are confident of a good outing, but players must lift their performance and the only way to do that would be for them to work harder from now on.

Joining the Vodafone Fijians in London are Glasgow Warriors’ Leone Nakarawa, Stade Francais centre Waisea Nayacalevu, Montanban winger Samisoni Viriviri along with Toulon pair Josua Tuisova and Semi Kunatani.

“At the end of the day Ben (Ryan) will pick the best 12 to go to Paris.

“We are slowly climbing up and each training camp is different from the others. In each camp we analysed what our last tournament was like and what we need to work on and at the same time keep building what we’ve build so far and to improve it. Right now we are going into the last two tournaments and we are very comfortable,” he added.

The Vodafone Fijians lead the 2015/16 World Sevens Series with 147 points and are eight points ahead of South Africa who are in second place with 139 while New Zealand are in third position with 135.
