A garment worker who had just been terminated from work was allegedly stabbed with a screw driver on Friday by a fellow worker.

According to Police, the victim, only known as Kini, 22, of Waiyavi, was terminated from his job at a garment factory in Lautoka.

The victim is believed to have blamed a co-worker for losing his job.

The victim then waited outside the factory until knock-off time and confronted the stabbing suspect.

An argument broke out between the two and this was witnessed by some of factory workers.

The suspect then took out a screw driver and allegedly stabbed the victim on the chest.

He was taken to hospital, but is recovering.

Police have yet to charge the suspect and this would be done once the medical report is released.

Police have advised workers to resolve issues concerning their work peacefully through a third party or legal means. Police investigations continue.
