The Lands Transport Authority (LTA) Review Committee will submit their report with recommendations at the end of this month.

This was confirmed by the Minister for Transport Parveen Kumar, after the ground breaking ceremony of the LTA Labasa office at Vatunibale, Labasa yesterday.

He said the four member committee was appointed last year to review the areas as recommended in the report to improve the Land Transport industry as a whole.

Furthermore the Review Committee will provide Mr Kumar with a thorough report in line with relevant international best practices to enable Government to implement effective and transport administration of the Land Transport industry.

“Whatever changes will be recommended will surely be implemented and not dusted away,” Mr Kumar said.

“This report will be very good for the people who have been complaining about LTA services. At the same time it would be good for LTA in terms of delivering better services.

“We don’t want people to wait for hours and hours to get their work done.

“This is one the major complaints which we have been receiving.”

The chairman of the committee is Mohammed Saneem who is the Supervisor of Elections.
