The High Court in Labasa has jailed a man for 11 years for raping a 14-year-old girl.
The court heard that the victim was from a broken family and was living with her stepmother who is the mother-in-law of the accused.
In handing down his sentencing, Justice Aruna Aluthge said the accused exploited her vulnerability despite knowing the victim’s situation.
The sentence will be served concurrently.
