Rewa, after Ro Teimumu
SODELPA strategists planning for 2018 general election are wondering what would happen in Rewa after Opposition leader Ro Teimumu Kepa quits politics.
How can the party retain its grassroot support there given the way she was unceremoniously dumped as party leader last year? Will there be a backlash?
Every vote will count in the next election and the last thing the party wants to see is its votes slipping in Rewa. But a quick glance at the 2014 polling results shows Ro Teimumu did not have it all her way. She had a better showing in some provinces like Lau.
It’s a mitigating factor in the discussion over the Ro Teimumu dumping fallout.
So the logical plan is to pick someone who knows Rewa and Rewa knows him or her.
