Rewa football coach Marika Rodu believes the inclusion of the Vodafone Fijian Under-23 players is going to strengthen them as they take on Nadroga tomorrow.

The clash is going to be one of the two Vodafone Premier League showdowns to be staged at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

The Fijian U23 side recently returned from their Brazil tour and players are to be released from camp today.

Rewa have only played two matches since the VPL started. The Delta Tigers lost their first game to Suva 2-1 before they held Ba to a scoreless draw.

“If the players turn up over the weekend then we will see if we can include them,” Rodu said.

“It is unfortunate the players could not have joined us during training throughout the week as we have played two games since the league started, so a win is crucial.  “As usual every team want to win and that is what makes this competition really tough but not having enough game time can take its toll.”

Rodu said it’s crucial for them to gain maximum points at this stage especially when they want to move up on the points table.
